BSNL revises Rs 187 plan, now offers unlimited roaming calls for 28 days

State-owned telecom Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited(BSNL) has revised its existing Rs 187 plan to offer unlimited roaming calls in its operating circles. The plan costs Rs 187 and comes with 28 days validity.

Along with unlimited roaming calls, BSNL also offers 1GB data, unlimited voice calling in the home circle and free personalised caller tune for 28 days. Please note that this offer is available only in areas where BSNL works. The offer is unavailable in metro cities Delhi and Mumbai.

BSNL also has another Rs 186 plan under which it offers unlimited local and STD voice calls and 1GB daily data. The offer is valid for  180 days but the data will be given only in the first 28 days of the recharge. Also, the unlimited voice calls include both on-net and off-net voice calls.

Telecom companies in recent past few months are majorly focussing on roaming. Telecom major Airtel also announced unlimited outgoing calls on roaming. This was announced in October. The company revised its Rs 349 plan to offer unlimited local/STD calls, 100 SMSes per day, 1GB daily data and unlimited roaming calls and SMS. Jio also has a Rs 349 plan that offers unlimited voice calls, free roaming and data for 3 months.

BSNL has been quite active in the ongoing telecom war since its beginning.  The company had said that it would match Jio tariff-by-tariff and so far it has remained true to its words. Not only the call rates and plans, the telecom company last month also announced its partnership with homegrown smartphone-makers Lava and Micromax to offer low cost mobile phones bundled with offers. This comes after Jio and Airtel launching its own smartphones. Reportedly, the BSNL phone could cost under Rs 2500 and come bundled with voice and data plans from BSNL.
