LIST of documents required for getting Aadhaar Card

Aadhaar card turned out to be the most important document which should be contained by every Indian. Aadhaar card could be applied for it by visiting the nearest Aadhaar enrolment center with documents that prove their date of birth, address  and their identity.

The applicant needs to bring both original and a photocopy of the documents he or she is producing as their date of birth, identity and address proof. Along with that, they need to submit a duly filled Aadhaar card enrollment form which would be made available to the applicant a the Aadhaar care center.

One needs to produce proof of identity, address and date of birth and the documents are already being mentioned by the UIDAI which is as follows. There are 18 documents and any one of those 18 documents needs to be produced by the Aadhaar card applicant. 

1] PAN card;

2] Passport;

3] Ration card

4] Voter ID;

5] Driving License;

6] If employed with Government/PSU, photo ID card of the employer;

7] NREGS job card;

8] Photo ID issued by the recognised educational institution;

9] Arms license;

10] Photo ID of Bank passbook;

11] Pensioner photo ID card;

12] Freedom Fighter photo ID card;

13] Kisan Photo ID passbook;

14] CGHS/ECHS photo ID card;

15] Address ID card with name and address issued by the Department of Posts;

16] Photo ID certificate issued by the Gazetted Officer or Tehsildar on their letter head;

17] Disability/handicapped ID card; and

18] Post office account passbook with photo.

For date of birth authentication, the UIDAI has listed the following list of documents:

1] Bank Statement or Passbook;

2] Ration Card;

3] Passport;

4] Post Office Statement or Passbook;

5] Voter ID;

6] Government Photo ID Cards or PSU Issued Service Photo Identity Card;

7] Driving License;

8] Water Bill (It should not be more than 3 months old);

9] Electricity Bill (It should not be more than 3 months old);

10] Property Tax Receipt (It should not be more than 1 year old);

11] Landline Telephone Bill (It should not be more than 3 months old);

12] Credit Card Statement (It should not be more than 3 months old);

13] Signed Letter that has Photo from the Bank on a letterhead;

14] Insurance Policy;

15] Signed Letter that has Photo and is issued by a Recognized Educational Institution on a letterhead;

16] Signed Letter that has Photo and is issued by a registered Company on a letterhead;

17] Arms License;

18 NREGS Job Card;

19] Pensioner Card;

20] Kissan Passbook;

21] Freedom Fighter Card;

22] Income Tax Assessment Order;

23] ECHS/ CGHS Card;

24] Certificate of Address that issued by the head of Village Panchayat or an equivalent authority (for rural areas);

25] Certificate of Address that has the photo and is issued by an MLA or MP or Tehsildar or Gazetted Officer on a letterhead;

26] Vehicle Registration Certificate;

27] Registered Lease/ Sale/ Rent Agreement;

28] Caste and Domicile Certificate that has the photo and is issued by the State Government;

29] Address Card that has the photo and is issued by the Department of Posts;

30] Gas Connection Bill (It should not be more than 3 months old);
