Vodafone offers Rs 1,500 cashback on these Samsung Galaxy series smartphones

Here’s some good news for Vodafone and Samsung customers. The telecom operator has partnered with the South Korean tech giant to introduce cashback offers of Rs 1,500 on its existing budget smartphones — Galaxy J2 Pro, Galaxy J7 Nxt and Galaxy J7 Max.

This offer is valid for both new and existing prepaid as well as postpaid customers. Prepaid customers will have to get a minimum recharge of Rs 198 per month for 24 months. This recharge includes benefits such as unlimited voice calls and 1GB data per day. The postpaid customers need to opt into any one of Vodafone’s Red Plans.

At the end of the first 12 months, customers will receive a cashback of Rs 600 and after another 12 months, a cashback of Rs 900 respectively, thus availing a total cashback of Rs 1,500. The cashback will be credited to their Vodafone M-Pesa wallets.

Post the cashback, the Samsung Galaxy J2 Pro, Samsung Galaxy J7 Nxt and the Samsung Galaxy J7 Max will have an effective price of 6,990, Rs 8,990 and Rs 15,400.

Speaking about the offer, Avneesh Khosla, Associate Director – Consumer Business, Vodafone India said, “We are incentivizing our customers to enjoy the Vodafone SuperNet 4G data strong network on some of Samsung’s most popular 4G Smartphones. With this partnering, we now offer cashback over the widest spectrum of 4G smartphones across various price points. This is in line with our strategy to democratize data and make 4G more accessible. Our offer with Samsung will encourage customers to buy/upgrade their smartphones for a richer voice and data experience.”

This is not Vodafone’s first tie-up with an international handset manufacturer. The company has also partnered with China’s itel mobile to launch a 4G handset called the itel A20. Vodafone is offering a cashback of Rs 2,100 in the handset, which can be purchased at a down payment of Rs 3,690; meaning that the effective price of the device is Rs 1,590.

To get this cashback, customers will have to get a recharge of Rs 150 or more for a period of 18 months, at the end of which they will get a cashback of Rs 900. Customers will get additional cashback of Rs 1,200 even after another 18 months.

Vodafone is also said to launch voice over LTE (VoLTE) 4G service from January. In the first phase, Vodafone VoLTE service will be available in Mumbai, Gujarat, Delhi, Karnataka, and Kolkata and will be extended across the country in a short time.
